Abstrakt:

This article deals with the problem of establishing and transforming the commercial space in Kyiv at a time of industrial modernization. Kyiv faced crucial changes in its population structure - migrations and the emergence of a new entrepreneurial economic elite - urban planning and economics. All of these transformations formed the background for establishing new, modern, commercial spaces, which included new streets and new buildings for the new Kyiv, not an old capital with old churches, but a modern city with new possibilities.
