Description:

The photo depicts a small boy in a white outfit with a large bow under his collar. The boy, who has very short cropped hair, is sitting between a woman in a flower-patterned dress and a man in a suit. Standing behind them are: a woman dressed in black with a headscarf and a man in a chequer jacket with his hair combed back. On the back of the photo there is an inscription: “A baptism of a 5-year-old boy, after the return from the emigration. Zbąszyń, May of 1946 (…).“ The photo was taken in a photographic studio in Zbąszyń” ; May 1946, Zbąszyń, voiv. Wielkopolskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
