Description:

The photo depicts a large group of people of different ages posing for the photo in a large yard. On the right side there is a big brick building with people sitting in its windows. Among the posing crowd there are musicians with musical instruments. According to its owner, the photo depicts participants of a dance organized by the wicker workshop in Strzyżewo. The photo owner’s father and grandfather are in the photo. Her father was still a boy at that time; he is standing in the second upper row, first from the left. Her grandfather is sitting in the first row at the bottom, fifth from the left ; 1946, Strzyżewo ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
