[A family photo – women with children] [An iconographic document]
Date issued/created: Description:The photo depicts a group of women of different ages wearing festive clothes, with carefully arranged hair, and a group of dressed up children. The photo was taken in a yard of a house in front of a tall fence. In the middle there are two small tables – one with flowerpots on top of it, the other one – smaller - at the front, with some photos standing on top of it. According to its owner, the photo was taken in July of 1901 in the yard of a farm in Lubosz Stary near Kościan. It depicts the photo owner’s grandmother Antonia (...) with her son and family. The photo was taken by the grandmother’s brother ; July 1901, Lubosz Stary, com. Kościan ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
