Abstract:

Electron microscopy analysis revealed changes in sarcomere pattern. Course of myofibrils was seriously altered and their disorganization were observed. Large areas completely devoid of contractile fibers were visible. Abundant connective tissue separating muscle fibers was visible in some parts of the specimen . In cardiomyocytes, ultrastructurally changed mitochondria were seen. Some of them were swollen, most werecharacterized by a bright mitochondrial matrix and a loss of mitochondrial cristae was observed).
