Abstract:

Ultrastructural analysis revealed changes in the course of myofibrils, their disorganization and focally, complete loss. Mitochondria characterized by dark mitochondrial matrix and blurredcristae structure were observed in areas devoid of fibrils. Cell nuclei were mostlyunchanged and centrally located. Around the nuclei, complete loss of myofibrils was common, and lipofuscin and vacuolar structures were seen.
