Abstract:

This paper presents the research of toxicological methods and biodegradation tests of organic substances in connection with the surface water and soil protection against pollutants.Based on the publication’s data the fundamental principles of providing the tests and criteria of pollutant toxicity estimations in relation to the biocenosis and their persistency in environment are discussed. This paper also presents the role and importance of above mentioned researches in the decision systemsapplied to estimation of chemicals limits as a base of managing of natural sources. The comparition ofdomestic and foreign effects of biotechnology which is to be used for environment protection is presented. It is shown, that current criteria of soil and water threats in Poland do not cover toxicodynamicalpeculiarities as well as resistance of the pollutants on the biochemical degradation; in conclusion it showsthe need of their introduction into environment management systems.
