Description:

Cedrzyniec kalifornijski to zimozielone drzewo dorastające do 45 metrów wysokości. Naturalnie występuje na zachodzie Ameryki Północnej. Ma stożkowatą koronę i cienko łuszczącą się, czerwonawą korę. Jego pędy pokryte są łuskami podobnymi do łusek żywotników. Są one jednak węższe, równej długości i nie mają gruczołków. Drewno pachnie bardzo intensywnie. Do Kórnika pierwsze egzemparze sprowadzono w 1872.
