Abstract:

Histological diagnosis: Focus encephalomalaciae in regionis capsulae externae claustri et capsulae extremae. Putrefatio permagna. Autopsy examination of 30-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin.A focus of softening with macrophage reaction was seen within the outer capsule, claustrum, and capsule of the last hemisphere. Extensive putrefactive lesions, more severe in the hemispheres than in the brain stem, made more precise evaluation of the case impossible
