Hasło ·humanizowania pracy zrobiło karierę światową już w latach 30-tyoh, po badaniach w Hawthorne prowadzonych przez Eltona Nayc i jego grupę. Od tamtego czasu rożne nazwy dawane są programom, które mają na celu przybliżenie pracy do człowieka uczynienia jej jeśli już nie czystą przyjemnością, to przynajmniej czymś znośnym, normalnym, nie powodującym żadnych perturbacji fizycznych czy psychicznych. Taką koncepcją humanizacyjną była teoria Mo Gregora, teoria 4-tego systemu R,Likerta, teoria dojrzałości G.Argyrisa, teoria 9,1 R. Blake'a i·J. Mouton. itd. itd.
