Abstract:

Over the years, a tremendous progress has been made in treatment of patientswith the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), and due to enormous effort ofnumerous laboratories around the world, the HIV virus is not any more anepidemiological threat. Despite this, there is no effective drug that could totallyeradicate the virus from the patient’s body. Thus, the quest for new drugs orimprovements of the existing ones continues, kindled by the hope of findingtherapeutics that could effectively cope with this troublesome and still dangerous virus.
