W okresie 6 lat, na powierzchni leśnej wielkości około 3 ha, śledzono dynamikę liczebności, oraz procesy nachodzenia, osiedlania się i ubywania osobników 3 gatunków gryzoni: Clethrionomys glareolus (Schreber, 1780), Apodemus agrarius (Pallas, 1771) i Apodemus (Sylvaemus) flavicollis (Melchior, 1834). Metodą badań był intensywny połów zwierząt zamieszkujących badaną powierzchnię, znakowanie ich, wypuszczanie i poprzez dalsze połowy śledzenie ich losów.
