W pracy niniejszej podjęto próbę wykorzystania wieloletnich badań nad tasiemcami (Cestoda) i przywrami (Trematoda) przy interpretacji zagadnień związanych z biologią ich żywicieli ostatecznych - Sorex araneus, Linnaeus 1758 w Białowieskim Parku Narodowym. W oparciu o dane parazytologiczne rozpatrywano dwa główne problemy: pożywienie ryjówki aksamitnej oraz dynamikę rozrodu tych ssaków (wyłącznie w odniesieniu do badanego terenu).
