Description:

The photo depicts a large group of people in festive clothes, standing in a farm yard. The young couple is standing in the middle of the first row - the woman in a dark dress is clad with a long white scarf (veil?); she is holding a bunch of flowers in her hands. The man is in a dark suit trimmed with a wedding rosette. There are wedding guests of different ages next to them and behind them. At the back of the photo there is the following inscription: "The wedding of Matylda (...) and Franciszek (...). The photo was taken in 1940 in Mała Wieś..." ; 1940, Mała Wieś, voiv. zielonogórskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
