Description:

The photo depicts a large group of people in festive, elegant clothes, posing for the camera in front of a large timber building. Among the wedding gests there are the newlyweds who are sitting in the first row, in the middle. The woman is in a white dress with a veil, the man in a suit and a white shirt. On the left, among the guests, there is a large group of children. According to the photo's owner, it was taken by his grandfather and depicts the wedding of his eldest daughter Pelagia with Józef (...) ; twenties of 20th c., Bukówiec Górny, district leszczyński, voiv. wielkopolskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
