The photo depicts a family with a child - a young woman in a folk costume sitting on a bench, a young man and a small girl - also in a folk costume. The photo was taken in a photographic studio, there is a photo wallpaper in the background. The woman is wearing a white blouse with puffed sleeves, an embroidered waistcoat and a long, colourful, striped skirt. The girl standing next to the woman is dressed in a white blouse and a skirt, a white apron and a colourful, embroidered waistcoat; she has a string of beads around her neck. The man is standing behind them. He is wearing a dark frock-coat and a white shirt with a band collar. According to the photo's owner, it depicts a country family but we do not know where it was taken. On the back of the photo there is an illegible inscription in German ; 13th December 1916 ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
