Abstract:

In the paper an idea of a complex computer system for decisions support for the operator ofa municipal water network is presented. The system consists of four co-operating modules: the numerical map of the water network, the monitoring system, the computer program for hydraulic calculations and for optimisation, and the set of computer programs realising the non-technical tasks which are arising by the maintenance of the waterworks. The numerical map is based on a standard GIS system adapted for the needs of the water network. The modules of computer system co-operate each other using the Branch Data Base which comprise the information about the water network structure and about its elements necessary to carry out the tasks of all modules ofthe computer system.
