The photo depicts a group of women in regional costumes and white scarves wrapped around their arms (identical for all women), with dark headscarves tied on their heads. Three girls in folk costumes are kneeling in front of them. In the background there is an altar which suggests that the photo was taken in a church. According to the photo's owner, it depicts women from the "Polish Mothers' Association" affiliated with the church of St. Barbara in Chorzów. On the back of the photo there is the following inscription: "Photo taken in May 1935. This is the "Polish mothers' Association" affiliated with the church of St. Barbara in Chorzów. Depicted in the photo is my husband's grandmother Bronisława (...) (looking at the photo the second person from the left). The photo was taken by a photographer form Chorzów (grandmother does not remember any surnames). In the photo there are also grandmother's cousins, Monika Emilia and her sister" ; May 1935, Chorzów ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
