Na podstawie danych uzyskanych w badaniach stosunków pokarmowych sarny i jelenia w Puszczy Białowieskiej przeprowadzono analizę struktury diety jeleniowatych w 6 zespołach leśnych. Operowano trzema parametrami: 1) współczynnikiem obfitości występowania danego gatunku rośliny (D), 2) intensywnością żerowania jeleniowatych na danej roślinie wyrażoną w kontaktach (n), 3) procentowym udziałem poszczególnych gatunków roślin w całości żeru pędowego (drzewa, krzewy i krzewinki), zanotowanego w diecie jeleniowatych łącznie w ciągu trzech lat badań (1969-1971).
