Description:

The photo depicts a Silesian family - four women of different ages in beautiful festive regional costumes: dark embroidered jackets with two rows of buttons and long flower-patterned skirts, and a young, elegantly dressed man standing behind them. The photo was taken in front of a brick building. In the right part of the photo there is an entrance to a building decorated with flowers. The women in the first row are sitting in chairs and are holding each others hands, while the women at the back are holding hands on their arms ; Silesia (Poland) ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
