Object description:

The photo shows the inside of the shrine in honor of Mommai Mata (here they are also called Bhed Mata). Inside, you can see the image of the goddess Mommai Mata, dressed in a festive coat, the same as the Rabari women. On the head of the figure, the eyes and the crown (?) are marked. On the left side you can see the sign of the trident (the sign of Siva) painted with ocher on the stone. On the left there are two small metal tridents (trishul) and on the right there are two larger ones. Metal vessels and metal bells stand in front of the goddess's legs. There are red canvases next to it. The red sign is associated with holiness. The nightly ceremonies in honor of Mommai mata take place in Chakar, actually in the valley outside the village. The ceremony took place during a full moon and lasted all night from dusk to sunrise. Singing and dancing to the accompaniment of drums lasted until morning. The ceremony was attended mainly by kachchi shepherds from nearby villages, but also dheberiya rabari.
