Object description:

Photo (scan from slide). A country cottage and a farm building made of wood. The sloping roofs are covered with tiles and thatched roofs. The village is situated in the monsoon zone, hence the predominance of rich vegetation. The villagers of Devgaon cultivate rice and raise animals. In the photo, a woman with children was grinding grain with a stone mortar. The woman and her daughter wear characteristic costumes for the Warli tribe. Photo taken in the dry season.
