Description:

A model of energy budget for wapiti (Cervus elaphus nelsoni Nelson, 1902) was formulated, allowing comparison of energy requirements and energy consumption which varied throughout the year with the quality of available food. The total yearly energy requirements of male and female wapiti were estimated to be 3,089 and 3,568 Mcal, respectively.
