Description:

Conventional and differential staining revealed that the kariotype of Eptesicus serotinus (Schreber, 1774) from the Białowieża population consists of 24 pairs of telocentric autosomes. Only sex chromosomes have two arms; the X-chromosome is submetacentric and similar in size to that of the largest pair of autosomes, while the Y-chromosome is submetacentric and of the size of the two smallest pairs of autosomes.
