Abstract:

Spiders of the Knyszyn Forest Landscape Park and its border zonę (NE Poland, vicinity of Białystok) were studied. This is the area similar to the Primeval Forest of Białowieża, with many identical characteristic plant associations but poorly studied in arachnological respect (some earlier papers of the author gave informations on 311 species). Under 402 species found recen- tly, 91 were not known from the area, among them one {Xysticus obscurus) is new to Poland and two {Micrargus sp. n., Agroeca sp. n.) - new to science. For all better studied plant associations an ecological analysis was madę and the associations were compared. A faunistic comparison with other better studied regions of NE Poland (Biebrza National Park, Białowieża Forest, Augustów Forest with Wigry National Park, Mazurian Lakę Area, the valley of Bug River) and with others parts of the country (Masovian Lowland, Polesie National Park, Holy Cross Moun- tains, Roztocze Upland, Sudetes) was madę. It resulted in an attempt of zoogeographical separa- tion of the North-Eastem Poland from the rest of the country. It is already the Southern- and westemmost part of the taiga zonę, so morę part of Northern than Central Europę!
