Description:

Opisano kariotyp Microtus gregalis major (Ognev, 1923). Liczba chromosomów w komórkach somatycznych 2N=36, liczba ramion chromosomów NF=54 (Ryc. 1). Ustalono, że M. gregalis posiada różny kariotyp od nearktycznych przedstawicieli podrodzaju Stenokranius. W oparciu o dane porównawcze wysunięto hipotezę o wspólnym pochodzeniu subarktycznych gatunków: M. gregalis, M. middendorffi, M. abbreviatus i M. miurus.
