Description:

Density, sex and age distribution, recruitment rate and mortality in hares within the hunting grounds of Central Poland were analyzed. Density estimates were made in spring and autumn by a transect census method. Age was determined by a method using lens dry mass. Hares were shot during five hunting seasons (n=754). Sex was determined on the spot.
