Abstract:

The article examines the politicisation of the mountaineering press during Poland’s period of political transformation. The author singles out different variants of the politicisation of magazines connected with the climbing and caving environment between 1989 and 1994, indicating the transience and abruptness of this process. He also concludes that it has a personal side, stemming from the involvement of many authors of the examined press in the opposition movement in the People’s Republic of Poland.
