The article discusses a critical edition of an important historical source, 'Notes sur la guerre 1939–1945. La Seconde Guerre mondiale racontée autrement'. This previously unknown work by Pierre Renouvin – an eminent French researcher of international relations – was published in France in 2024. It was prepared for publication by Renouvin’s successor at the Sorbonne, Robert Frank, in collaboration with Maryvonne Le Puloch, who served not only as the editor but also as co-author of the publication. The article analyses Renouvin’s narrative and communication style, which offer an insightful and original perspective on the Second World War and highlight the numerous Polish themes present in his account.
