Description:

The photo depicts a middle-aged couple sitting behind a table covered with a piece of dark fabric. There are two young women standing behind them; in front of them there are also two children: a small boy and a slightly older gir. The photo was taken outdoors, in front of an orchard. The woman sitting behind the table is wearing a dark dress and the man is in a frock-coat. The young women standing behind them are in long dresses with ornamental collars. The boy is dressed in a uniform with knee-long trousers and the girl is in a bright dress. On the back of the photo there is the following inscription: "1. Year 1909 (July), 2. A family photo of (...), 3. taken by Dominik (...), 4. the village of Młynki...". First from the left is the photo’s owner’s grandmother ; July 1909, Młynki ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
