[Celebrations of gathering soil for Piłsudski’s Mound] [An iconographic document]
Date issued/created: Description:The photo depicts a large group of people. In the foreground there are mainly children. These people are standing in front of a large, white house. The main plan of the photo is set out by the arrangement of people on both sides with an empty space in the middle – with only a table with a radio (?) in the empty space. There is another large group of people behind the table. On the right side of the table there is a standing priest, and on the left there is a man in a bright coat. On the back of the photo there is the following inscription: “Collecting of soil from outside of the rectory in Podegrodzie – the place where Marshall Józef Piłsudski resided in 1914 – for the mound of Marshall J. Piłsudski’s in Kraków. Podegrodzie 1935" ; 1935, Podegrodzie, district Nowosądecki ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
