Description:

The photo depicts a young couple and wedding guests posing for the camera. All guests are very dignified, elegantly and festively dressed. The bride is dressed in a white dress with a veil; the groom is in a dark suit and a white shirt and has a ribbon pinned to the lapel of his jacket. There are two small girls in white dresses, holding flowers, sitting at the newlywed’s feet. The bride is also holding a large bouquet in her hand. There are smaller bunches of flowers laid out next to her feet. According to the photo’s owner, it depicts the wedding of his sister Nadzieja in Pańska Dolina, who married Jan (...) from Wojciechów Lubelski. In the photo there are: 1 – Józef (...), father of the photo’s owner and the bride, 2 – Wiktoria (...), sister with her husband Hipolit, 3 – Władysław (...), older brother, 4 – Antoni C (...) in active military service 13th Light Artillery in Równe. The other people are family members and guests ; September 1936, Pańska Dolina, district Dubno, Ukraine ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
