Description:

The photo depicts a group of people posing for the camera in front of a house, next to a fence and some trees. There are four women sitting on a bench and a small girl standing in the middle. Standing behind them there are four men. They are all festively dressed. The women are in dresses or skirt suits, the men – in suits, white shirts and ties. One of them (second from the right) is wearing a uniform. The girl is wearing a dark dress with a white polka dot pattern. According to the photo's owner, it depicts family (...) in Karsin in 1931 ; Summer 1931, Karsin, voiv. gdańskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
