Description:

The photograph shows a fifty-person group of children with two teachers posing for a picture on the background of a brick wall (of a school?). Children are sitting in several rows on the stone steps. In the front row sit the boys dressed in modest clothes, the girls are dressed in school aprons imposed on everyday clothes. Teachers sit between children dressed in dark suits and white shirts with ties ; Teachers are probably Wł. (...) and Stefan (...) among the pupils in the front of the school in Jaroszewy ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
