Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). The picture shows the interior of the temple dedicated to Pabuji , built in the town in which he lived - Kolu Pabuji Marwar region in the western part of Rajasthan . On the altar there are three reliefs - Pabuji as a rider on a horse (center) and two other riders on horses , companions of hero . Below are three other reliefs showing Hanuman carrying weights (in the middle ) and two riders on horseback . In the village of Kolu Pabuji was born one of the ancestors of the family Rathor Rajputs and one of the heroes of epic poems and songs of the western part of India. He was rajput who, according to the epic devoted his life to fight for the welfare of his lieges . In the present series there are characters, members of his team. These figures are presented on other smaller reliefs lying in the temple. Song of the Pabuji Rathor are sung besides rajputs also by shepherds and some lower castes related culturally and economically with rajputs
