Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). The photo shows several men, participants of naming ceremony. It takes place in a small temple dedicated to the god Vachchada Dada, placed in the field near the village of Kotra. Once a year, one of the shepherds kaczchi rabari lineages organize this ritual, giving the names of all children born within one year of the previous ceremony. Guests at the wedding ceremony kachchi rabari. Ritual different from the other night festive take place during the day (Kartik Sud, first Monday). The participants are dressed in white festive costumes traditionally in black and purple turbans on their heads - a sign of belonging to a group kachchi rabari. Two men wearing the veils in red - a sign of the function of ritual priest (bhopa). On the left side you can see signs painted on the Hindu temple roof
