Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). Men dressed in characteristic clothes of shepherds rabari from the group of kachchi are sitting at the small shrine. Picture was taken during the feast of Vachchada Dada. It takes place it middle of the day, and not, as other at the dusk. Participants gather around shrines lying down in the field - men sit on shrines, they sing and play, and the women are sitting on a the ground. It is also an opportunity to give names to children who were born during the year. During this ceremony one of the helpers is taking another baby on the hands, and the bhopa, a type of the medium in the red turban, falls into a trance and is suitable children to names
