Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). The photo shows a group shepherds kachchi rabari singing at the ceremony in honor of pir at tomb of a Muslim saint (pir) located a short distance from the village. In the foreground you can see men and children standing and sitting at the tomb. They play the drums and sing. These types of sites with buried bodies is many in Rajasthan and buried there "saints" given different terms (pir, miyan). They are also characterized by a divine power that comes from the body of the saint, and thus visited by Muslims but also by Hindus
