The photograph shows the portrait of elderly people taken in an atelier. A woman dressed in a black long dress with a stand-up collar and applications at the bottom of a skirt is sitting on a chair, and next to it stands a tall man in a black frock coat and a vest, a white shirt with a black bow tie and black pants. A woman has a brooch in a stand-up collar and a long chain around her neck. She has gray, carefully arranged hair, and he is bald. They are very stylish but hardworking hands of both indicate that this is not their everyday attire ; On the back of the photo there is an inscription: Great-grandparents (...) from Rywald 16 V. 1918. Stamp on the back of the photo reads: ed. Miroslaw (...) Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz ; On the left side of the back of the photo there is also a decorative print: Carl Weils, Photogr.: Atelier, Brobmberg, Johannisstr. 8, Fernsprecher 1533. Filialen in Crone and. Br. Exin und Sthum Westpr. ; May 16th, 1918, Rywałd, kujawsko-pomorskie voivodeship ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
