The photograph shows a group of men in suits and hats or caps on their heads walking down the street in a demonstration march. Two men on the left side of the photo is wearing armbands, they are probably persons on orderly duty ; According to the owner of the images it presents a demonstration march in Gorlice in the thirties of the twentieth century ; On the back of the photo there is a stamp: ZAKŁAD ART. FOTOGRAFICZNY JAN MELKO GORLICE. Wyróżniony przez P. Prezydenta Rzpp. [An artistic and photographic studio, Jan Melko, Gorlice, honored by the president of Polish Republic] ; thirties of the twentieth century ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
