Description:

The photo shows two men standing in front of a barber’s shop in a brick building. The both of men are wearing white overalls and dark trousers. To the left a part of a bicycle propped against the wall of the building is visible. Above the shop window there is a wooden board and above it a sign saying: “Friseur, Inhaber, Andreas (...)” [Barber, owner, Andrew (...)] ; According to the owner, it is a photo of her neighbor Andrzej (...), who used to be a barber. The photo was taken by the photographer Jan (...). ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
