Abstract:Rydno is a unique, Final Paleolithic hematite mine located on the north-eastern footslopes of the Holy Cross Mountains (Góry Świętokrzyskie) in the Kamienna Valley. Intensive excavations of the mine as well as at numerous surrounding sites yield data relevant to various problems concerning social structures, economy, ownership status, etc. of the small societies of the Final Paleolithic
