Abstract:A situation of Czechoslovakia in 1938 was very bad. Standing alone, Czechoslovakiatried at all cost to retain its sovereignty. The Germans and Italians, however, more and more certain that no other country would stand up for Prague, were showing themselves increasingly hostile towards Czechoslovakia. The diaries of Joseph Goebbels and Galeazzo Ciano make it possible for us to follow opinions about the future of the Czechoslovak state.
