Abstract:Studies were made of the influence of the wandering spider Dolomedes fimbriatus Clerck and the web spider Tetragnatha montana Simon on the behaviour of their preys - mosquitoes. It was found that these predators caused changes in the intensivity with which the mosquitoes penetrated the habitat and in their vertical distribution in the vegetation and above it. A relation was found between the behaviour of the mosquitoes and the rate of their reduction by spiders.
