Abstract:

The paper presents the formation of macrophytes in Goczałkowice dam reservoir over 28 years. Three stages in their development have been distinguished. The first stage (1956-1958) was characterized by a great growth of macrophytes and a small number of species. The second stage (1959-1972) showed a maximum growth of emergent macrophytes. The third stage from 1973 showed further growth of macrophytes with submerged leaves and a stabilization of their dominance.
