Abstract:The distribution, numbers, biomass, annual production and age structure of Unionidae were investigated. A mathematical relation between the size (age) and weight of a bivalve was determined for two species: Anodonta piscinalis Nilsson and Unio tumidus Philipsson. The filtration abilities and the role of these invertebrates in MikoĊajskie Lake were determined.
