Abstract:

In search for an experimental model of Parkinsonian syndrom pathomorphological studies were carried out on 12 rats subjected to manganese intoxication. Manganous chloride (in totaldosis of 240 mg/kg of body weight, counted of Mn++) was intravenously injected in 7 dosesduring the period of 4 weeks. For following 4 weeks animals were not subjected to any experimental treatment. The animals were sacrificed by intracardiac perfusion with neutral 10% formaline. Brains, livers and kidneys were studied histologically.
