Abstract:

In last ten years the opinion of majority of Polish people switched from positive to negative towards GMO. Practically all Poles (90%) require supervision of state administration, legal regulation and labeling of GMO. Research in the field of genetic engineering (particularly in pharma sector and environment protection) is acceptable for two third of the society. However, we observe high acceptance of innovative agriculture among farmers. About sixty per cent of Polish farmers want freedom of choice and availability of GM seeds. Majority of them correctly recognize profits of modern agrobiotechnology.
