 abstract={The Lviv-Chernivtsi Railway started to operate in 1866 r. and the major parts of its infrastructure, such as stations, bridges and rolling stock, were documented in a pho-tographic album, probably commissioned by the management soon after the opening of the line in 1867. Copies of the album, some incomplete, have survived in several European and American collections. The photographs were taken by Adolf Schoon von Corbitzthal (1830–1904), an Austrian soldier and railway clerk employed by the Lviv-Chernivtsi Railway in the years 1866–1871. The album is one of many collections of photographs documenting railways produced in the second half of the 19th c., usually commissioned by companies building new lines and intended to both commemorate and advertise their work.},
