Materiał składa się z 1162 okazów darniówek Pitymys subterraneus (de Selys Longchamps 1835) zebranych na terenie Białowieskiego Parku Narodowego w latach 1946-1959. Materiał zbierany był w sposób ciągły, do r. 1950 we wszystkich biotopach BPN, w latach późniejszych głównie w grondach. Analiza biomorfologiczna materiału doprowadziła do następujacych wniosków: 1. W BPN darniówka występuje głównie w lasach liściastych o obfitym podszyciu - w Carpinetum typicum lub Querceto-carpinetum.
